Clinic Assistant Course for Healthier SG

​​​​​​This course is an additional workshop that supplements the Clinic Assistant Basic and Advance Courses . This course skills adds on to the skill-sets acquired in the basic and advanced course and helps the clinic assistants to acquire skill-sets to support the Clinic Doctors in their preparation for Healthier.SG.  ​​​

Course Information

  1. ​Understand the basic concept of health promotion and preventive health screening.
  2. Teach patients to use digital health mobile applications to manage their health data, principally:
    • ​​​​​HealthHub
    • Healthy365
    •   NHG Health App
  3. Assist the GPs in the administration of on-boarding questionnaires on Smoking and Exercise habits to the patients in the clinic, where necessary
  4. Demonstrate the ability to promote preventive health screening programmes to patients:
    • ​​Diabetic Complication Screening (Diabetic Retinopathy and Diabetic Foot Screenings)
    • Women's Health (Mammogram and Cervical Smear)
    • Colorectal Cancer
    • Smoking Cessation
    • Cardiovascular Risk Screening
  5. ​Provide information on vaccination schedule for recommended groups under National Adult Immunisation Schedule
  6. Understand the concept of social prescribing and its potential to improve the health and well-being of people in the community.
  7. Assess the needs of patients and connect them with appropriate community resources.

Individuals who have prior experience working in GP clinic or healthcare setting. 

Individuals who are interested to work in a GP clinic or are new to working in a GP clinic enrolled with Healthier SG program​.
