Government polyclinics were set up in the 1970s to provide subsidised and accessible health care to the population. The healthcare system in Singapore was reconstructed in October 2000. The polyclinics and hospitals were divided into two clusters and are managed separately by the National Healthcare Group and Singapore Health Services.

The National Healthcare Group Polyclinics (NHG Polyclinics) is a full-service primary health care provider that manages the following nine polyclinics:

Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic Clementi Polyclinic Toa Payoh Polyclinic
Bukit Batok Polyclinic Hougang Polyclinic Woodlands Polyclinic
Choa Chu Kang Polyclinic Jurong  Polyclinic Yishun Polyclinic

Our Vision

To be the leading health promoting institution that helps advance family medicine and transform primary healthcare in Singapore.

Our Mission

We will improve health and reduce illness through a patient-centred quality primary healthcare that is accessible, seamless, comprehensive, and appropriate in an environment of continuous learning and relevant research.

Our Values

  • Integrity
We are committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
  • Compassion
Our paramount concern is the welfare and well-being of our fellow human beings. We sympathise with those struck with illness and suffering and will do our best to help alleviate their condition.
  • Professionalism
We are committed to being the best in what we do and achieving the best possible outcome for our patients.
  • Respect
We treat everyone with honesty, decency and fairness.
  • Collegiality
We nurture success by promoting collaboration, participation and trust between individuals and other healthcare organisations, within an environment of sharing and mutual respect.
  • Social Responsibility
We contribute positively to the well-being of the community.

We established the Health Promotion & Preventive Care (HPPC) division that focuses on caring for people in the pre-illness segment of the healthcare continuum.  Its objective is to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease through health education. We hope to achieve this objective by offering health-screening services and targeted post-screening programmes for those found to have health issues and significant risk factors.

Logo Rationale

NHGP logo

The NHG Polyclinics' logo imparts our vision and service values.

The logo portrays an individual springing forward into a future filled with healthy years and a good quality of life. In tow of the individual are the members of his/her family, which conceptually can be extended to the community, moving forward to a future of health and happiness. This enshrines the core business of NHG Polyclinics, which is in family and community healthcare, encompassing a major element of preventive healthcare to help individuals achieve and maintain good health.

They emerge from a glowing sun, symbolised by a rich orange eclipse, typifying energy and strength, to support their move forward into the blue sky and towards a good state of health.

This at the same time endorses corporate branding, through the corporate colours of National Healthcare Group.
